SWALEC junior stars day winners 2011

    Your junior side needs you!

From 10 finalists, only four teams will win. It's over to you to make their dreams become a reality.

For the third year running SWALEC, the National Community Partner of the WRU, is giving junior rugby teams in Wales the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime rugby opportunity.

Ten junior rugby teams from across Wales have been selected as finalists in SWALEC's annual Junior Stars competition.

In the U14s category, Llanishen RFC, Rumney RFC and Denbigh RFC have been shortlisted. Fleur de Lys RFC, Bangor RFC and St Josephs RFC make it through in the U13s. For the schools, Maes Yr Yrfa School U14s, St John’s Baptist Church of Wales School U13s and Bryngwyn School U14s qualify for a chance, and in the girls category, Witland RFC U13s have automatically qualified for a place at the VIP prize day.

From over 34 applicants, the 10 teams were selected for their community spirit, team commitment, excellence on the pitch and fundraising by a panel of judges consisting of Jonny Petrie (SWALEC Head of Sponsorship), Ryan Jones (Wales international player and SWALEC Brand Ambassador) and Joe Lydon (WRU Head of Rugby Performance and Development).

With only four places up for grabs it is now over to the team’s supporters, parents, family and wider community to help make their dreams become a reality. Support your team and vote for them to win in their category

Voting opens on Friday 17 February 2012 and closes at midnight on Friday 2 March 2012. The team with the most votes in each category will be triumphant and win a full day training session at the WRU National Centre of Excellence with members of Wales’ international coaching staff, as well as a host of international players.
