1. Comparison between talk prices and the BT equivalent i.e. not on a contract. All comparisons are based on published rates as at time of going to print, payment by Direct Debit and receiving paper bills. talk is only available to residential customers with a BT line. All prices include VAT at 17.5%. With effect from 4 January 2011, VAT will increase to 20% and we reserve the right to increase our prices to reflect this with effect from that date.
2. The payment method for talk is by Direct Debit. If this payment method is not maintained, we will apply a further charge. This and other administrative charges that may be applicable in certain circumstances’ are set out in the talk charges and tariffs information on our website.
3. Different rates apply to international destinations not listed, international mobiles and non-geographic numbers such as directory enquiries, internet numbers and premium-rate services. Calls to NTS (Number Translation Service) numbers beginning 0845, in non-inclusive periods, cost a maximum of 11.3p for a one-minute call with subsequent minutes costing a maximum of 2p per minute. Calls to NTS numbers beginning 0870, in non-inclusive periods cost a maximum of 14.3p for a one-minute call with subsequent minutes costing a maximum of 5p per minute. Calls to other NTS numbers vary depending on the number, with a maximum cost of 19.3p for a one-minute call with subsequent minutes costing a maximum of 10p per minute. Calls to personal numbers beginning 070 cost a maximum of 64.63p for a one-minute call with subsequent minutes costing a maximum of 55.33p per minute. 4. All local/national calls and calls to mobiles and international calls will be rounded up to the next whole minute. This does not apply to NTS or premium rate calls. It will also not apply to inclusive calls. The total cost of each non inclusive call will be rounded up to the nearest whole penny.
5. Inclusive talk calls are standard voice calls to local and national numbers, which are those numbers that begin with 01, 02 and 03. Inclusive talk calls last up to 70 minutes (the BT equivalent is 60 minutes). Redial before 70 minutes to avoid additional charges. Daytime calls mean from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday; Evening calls before 8am and after 6pm Monday to Friday; Weekend calls midnight Friday to midnight Sunday.
6. Calls to dialled numbers beginning with 0845 & 0870 are free during the same inclusive periods of your call package for local and national calls. Excludes indirect access numbers and dial-up internet access. A fair use policy applies – maximum of 1,000 minutes or 150 calls a month. If either of these limits on free calls is exceeded, we will charge for these calls at the equivalent rate for non-inclusive periods. Inclusive talk calls last up to 70 minutes (the BT equivalent is 60 minutes). Redial before 70 minutes to avoid additional charges.
7. The call set-up charge does not apply to inclusive talk calls up to 70 minutes. Certain other call types exclude the call set-up charge. For details see our talk charges and tariffs information on our website.
8. In the comparison, the BT mobile rates exclude the optional feature of paying £1.49 monthly for a flat rate of 7.2p per minute for calls to selected mobile networks.
